Examining the Nozzle Check Pattern

Examine the nozzle check pattern, and clean the print head if necessary.

Note

  • When an optional FINE cartridge is installed, the different nozzle check pattern is printed.

Checking Black-and-White Pattern

  1. Check if there are missing lines in the pattern.

    If there are missing lines in the pattern:

    • A: Good
    • B: Bad (lines are missing)

    If the pattern is not printed:

    If one of the above is applied, cleaning the print head is required.

Checking Color Pattern

  1. Check if there are missing lines in the pattern C or horizontal white streaks in the pattern D.

    If there are missing lines in the pattern C:

    • E: Good
    • F: Bad (lines are missing)

    If there are horizontal white streaks in the pattern D:

    • G: Good
    • H: Bad (horizontal white streaks are present)

    If any color in the pattern C or the pattern D is not printed:

    (Example: Magenta pattern is not printed)

    If one of the above is applied, cleaning the print head is required.
